Shanley Kruizenga is a West Michigan-based percussion instructor and performer. She graduated with a B.M. in Percussion Performance from Alma College in 2017, under the teaching of Dave Zerbe. She maintains a full private lesson studio, with in-person and virtual learning options. 

 

Shanley teaches regularly at Holland Christian High School, Holland Christian Middle School, Macatawa Bay Middle School, Harbor Lights Middle School and West Ottawa High School. Shanley has also taught with these schools on a limited basis: Creekside Middle School, Cityside Middle School, Hamilton High School, Hamilton Middle School, Zeeland Christian Schools, and Martin High School. 

 

Shanley is Assistant Principal Percussion with the Holland Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with area ensembles such as the Holland Chorale, Holland American Legion Band, and Central Wesleyan’s Christmas program. 

 

Shanley appreciates seeing others engage with music! She finds joy helping students reach their full potential and watching their love for music come to life. Shanley hopes that through her performing and teaching, she can give others a spark that ignites their passion for and appreciation of music.
